Flow is elevated on the Green River. Target inside bends and eddies behind boulders. Use heavier split shot to get flies down. Streamer fishing along cut banks can be excellent in higher flows.

Flow has been dropping — Dam releases are decreasing. Expect better clarity and more active fish as levels stabilize. Conditions are improving.

Ideal water temp for Green River rainbow and brown trout. This is prime time on one of the best tailwaters in the west. Expect excellent dry fly opportunities during hatch windows. The fish can be very selective so match the hatch carefully.

Overcast skies are perfect for BWO hatches on the Green tailwater. This river is world famous for its BWO hatches — watch for rising fish throughout all sections especially in the slower flat water.

Fall on the Green River is bucket list fishing. BWO and Mahogany Dun hatches on overcast afternoons bring massive fish to the surface. Big browns become aggressive before spawn. This is arguably the best time of year on the Green.
